Bay Of Geddon

I'm finally back in Ponsonby after three crazy days spent in Tauranga for The Armageddon Expo. Artwork displayed inside The Nourished Eatery - Tauranga. We at  IPW  are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to wrestle infront of the Armageddon crowds up and down the country. We have also been to Christchurch and Dunedin Expo's this year and will be in Wellington over Queens Birthday Weekend. I didn't get much action in the ring due to a concussion I suffered from my last match (Watch it  here. ) but I still had a great time spending way too much money on souvenirs and delicious food. Speaking of food, both Tauranga and The Mount had some really great vegan restaurants that even the non-vegan crew were able to enjoy. Saturday morning's Breakfast from  Wild One Wholefoods Eatery Sunday morning's breakfast from  The Nourished Eatery It was my first time trying tofu 'egg' and it was pretty darn close to what I remember the rea

Gypsy Caravan

Last Wednesday night, a few of us IPW girls got together to try out the new Vegan menu at Gypsy Caravan in Ponsonby. L-R: Candy Lee, Amber Saint, Ashlee Spencer (me) It was my first visit to Gypsy, so I was very excited. The restaurant is tucked away in Lot 3, 130 Ponsonby Rd and the vibe there is just amazing. The Caravan is there too and now serves as the bar. Gypsy debuted a vegan/vegetarian menu for the month of May. We each had the set vegan menu, and were spoilt with a few extras. The entree was lightly toasted fresh bread with fennel butter and dukkah.  Jez's Bread A lil extra: Spiced Pumpkin Custard with Pistachios  Another surprise: Potato Broth with Shitake Mushrooms It was really nice to get all three of us together to bond over food and our passion for wrestling in a relaxed environment with no show pressures or time constraints. And we took a lot of selfies. Skordalia, Beets, Peas and more Dukkah Falafel, Caulif

Op Shop Adventure Fail

I met up with my boyfriend on K Rd today to check out some of the fancy opshops, including my fave Paper Bag Princess, hoping to find some recycled band tees that I could customise. No luck on that front, but I did find awesome distressed vintage Levi's and a holographic cupcake purse that I had to slowly back away from.  Next on the agenda was Lord of the Fries to solve my hangry, I had a Big Spicy vegan style. They were all out of Moustache's double choc vegan cookies, so we then wandered down to Moustache Milk & Cookie. I tried the Mo Vegan Milkshake in Oreo and it was delicious 👌🏼 On the walk back home I convinced the BF to take some pictures in front of one of the many awesome murals.  I wore my new fave shirt from Sea Shepherd, if you're interested in finding out more about what they do you can click here . That's all for today, I'm spending the rest of the evening watching The Hangover. -Ashlee
